The National Court will rule on Tuesday, on the case of the president of Catalonia Acció, Santiago Espot, for whistling during the Spanish anthem and at King Felipe VI during the final of the 2015 Football Cup at the Camp Nou. The judge has urged Espot to consider that he could have committed crimes of insult against the Crown and outrage against the symbols of Spain, as a result of having made signs and promoted a manifesto entitled “Down with the Spanish anthem and King Philip of Bourbon”. The examining judge believes that Espot took advantage of the platform of Catalonia Acció to carry out “his intentions to damage Spain”.
