Belgian police have informed the General Directorate for the Security of the European Parliament of a ‘large rally’ tomorrow, referring to the  ANC and Omnium-organised demonstration under the “Wake up Europe” slogan. “Between 20,000 and 30,000 demonstrators will be concentrated on the esplanade of the Parc del Cinquantenaire from 10am”, the parliament stated via a press broadcast through the Intranet in which they referred to a “Demonstration in support of Carles Puigdemont”.

The department, which facilitates parliamentary activities and guarantees the safety of the people involved, also stated that according to the police, the main streets affected by the route of the demonstration will be closed to traffic. “The police anticipate a significant congestion in the centre and around the European neighborhood and recommends avoiding car trips”.
