At about 3:45pm, counsellors Meritxell Borràs and Dolors Basa left the prison of Alcalá-Meco, in Madrid. A throng of journalists and photographers waited at the gates to try to get statements or shots of the moment.
In the images that were broadcast live on TV3 journalists could be seen trying to get cameras into the vehicles which were transporting the counsellors and their relatives just as they left prison in Madrid. One of the photographers faced off with one the drivers who did not allow him to intrude on the privacy of the counsellors when he tried to enter one of the cars. The reaction of the Spanish photographer was disproportionate and he began yelling insults such as “payaso” (clown) and “gilipollas” (vulgar: ‘arsehole’) (among other unprintable words), and even went so far as punching the driver’s side window, twice.
Així són els periodistes espanyols… imagineu-vos quan escriguin les notícies… mare meva: atenció als insults i cops del fotògraf a la sortida de les conselleres de la presó. pic.twitter.com/DBpea3oYh8

Tweet: This is how Spanish journalists behave. Imagine them when they are writing the news. Goodness me, watch out for insults and punches from the photographer, upon the exist of the counsellors.
