Press intimidation at the Sant Cugat Spanish nationalist demonstration

Some protesters of the Spanish concentration in Sant Cugat on Monday, November 6, have tried to intimidate the press that covered the event. In particular, the songs against TV3 and TOT Sant Cugat have been present during the hour and a half that the manifestation lasted. Some of the protesters have covered with Spanish flags the cameras that wanted to capture the moment that the assistants climbed onto the balcony of the facade of the City Council to start the banner that demanded freedom from political prisoners, which could not be avoided by the assistant police .

The protesters publically identified TOT journalists. “Look, this one works in TOT Sant Cugat, you manipulate the truth”, they exclaimed. The protesters encouraged each other to impeded the journalists from capturing the images of the demonstration. In addition, some of the protestors present, including members of ultra-populist right-wing groups such as National Democracy, were verbally assaulting photojournalist Jordi Borràs.
