Trapero sends his nº 3 to meeting with Spanish Guardia Civil (paramilitary corps) and Spanish police  


Mossos d’Esquadra Chief, Josep Lluís Trapero, snubbed nº 3 of the Spanish Ministry of the Interior, Diego Pérez de los Cobos, at the meeting to coordinate the actions of Spanish Police, paramilitary Guardia Civil and Catalan Mossos d’Esquadra for the 1st October independence referendum. The chief sent his nº 3, Ferran López, superintendent for territorial coordination and detached himself from the strategy of the Spanish state, who want control over Catalan police. This is the first meeting at the Spanish government delegation and the first since Catalan Minister of the Interior, Joaquim Forn, announced that they did not acknowledge the decision by the Spanish government to take over the control of the Catalan police force. ‘Remain calm because the Mossos d’Esquadra shall by no means renounce exerting their responsibilities”. He also notified that the police department legal advisors were studying the order to give the due legal response.
